FEPP is an object-oriented 3D adaptive multi-level finite element code developed by our group in Linz. The goal is to have a flexible frame-work for the solution of coupled field problems and inverse problems.

We present the chosen approach for robust discretization, preconditioning and a-posteriori error estimates for a wide class of problems. We describe the object-oriented code-design very close to the mathematical concepts.

We plan to include also some comments about 3D-mesh generation.
